Healthwatch Cheshire East report on its key activities between July and September 2026. They engaged with 435 people through 26 community events, groups and meetings across the borough, including Pride events, wellbeing hubs, recovery groups, homeless support services, falls prevention groups, community cafés and market-based engagement activities.
During the quarter, Healthwatch published Phase 2 of its research into discharge from Leighton Hospital and shared findings from Phase 3 with Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and other partners. It also began work on an intelligence report bringing together feedback from care home residents and relatives collected through Enter and View visits during 2025-26.
Alongside community engagement, Healthwatch contributed to a wide range of strategic health and care partnerships across Cheshire East and Cheshire and Merseyside. These included the Health and Wellbeing Board, Health and Care Partnership Board, Urgent and Emergency Care Board, Population Health Partnership and quality and transformation groups. The organisation also continued to gather feedback, provide signposting and ensure local people's experiences informed service development and decision-making.
Healthwatch Cheshire East identified several priorities for the coming months, including publishing the final phase of its Leighton Hospital discharge work, completing and publishing a care home intelligence report, launching a new discharge project focused on the Countess of Chester Hospital and continuing engagement through local care communities and community events across the borough.
