Healthwatch Hackney carried out a review of 33 local GP practices' websites. This work was carried out in order to ensure that the services within Hackney maintain high quality standards and meet the needs of the local community. With the recommendations made for each GP practice, Healthwatch Hackney hoped to improve patient relations with these practices and increase the accessibility of practice information. The criteria reviewed for each GP practice website included: general information, accessibility, information about complaints, information about Patient Participation Groups (PPGs), and digital offerings including online appointment booking and repeat prescription ordering systems.
The findings for each GP practice were RAG rated and are detailed in the report. A number of common findings were seen across all GP practice websites:
- No information on extended consultations
- Complaints policies were difficult to find
- Difficulty making official complaints
- No meeting dates or times for PPGs
- No recent meeting minutes from PPGs.
The report details the individualised recommendations sent to each GP practice, along with any responses received from the respective GP practices.
