Your voice can change services: experience of patients using Parkway, Fieldway and Headley Drive GP surgeries

Healthwatch Croydon used an online survey to find out the experiences of patients of three surgeries that used the DR iQ Mobile app which is the fastest way to access to any NHS GP service. 325 people responded to a survey between October 2020 and January 2021.
- Nearly three in five rated their GP as positive, compared to 14% negative
- Over nine in ten knew about the Dr IQ app and nearly three quarters had used it.
- Over half would recommend the Dr IQ app to family and friends
- Lower responses from patients of the Headley Drive surgery suggested that patients there are more likely to be digitally excluded
- Patients would welcome more support on how to use the Dr IQ app
- On overall Croydon service, staff attitude, training and access were key issues.
There were five recommendations about use of the Dr IQ app, understanding the different demographics and working with patients to improve services.
