Summary of report content

Healthwatch East Riding of Yorkshire report on the Q2 2025/26 activities of its Youth Voice initiative which focuses on engaging young people across East Riding to share experiences and shape services:

They restarted the Youth Voice Hubs in September at various six form colleges, and engaged 71 students in discussions on alcohol myths, rural transport challenges, and safe behaviours.

They held drop-in sessions with parent-led groups (SEND Collective, East Yorkshire Parent Carer Forum), discussing ADHD medication delays, EHCP barriers, and Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA).

They co-chaired the Autism and ADHD Partnership Board.  This addressed long waiting times for assessments and concerns about transition from child to adult services.

They ran a collaborative event with young people, professionals, and families to improve service design.

Other topics they worked on were children's mental health access, attending a freshers' fair and undertaking work on sexual health education.
