Healthwatch Surrey report on the feedback they received on dentistry during the period August 2020 to January 2021.  During this period they heard from 60 people.

Key themes they were hearing include:

  • Difficulty in finding NHS dentists taking new patients
  • Availability of NHS dental appointments for existing patients
  • Lack of communication about access during COVID
  • Practices opening for private appointments (e.g. Hygienist) but not routine NHS appointments
  • Payment/ charges
  • Mixed experiences of specialist dementia care
