Summary of report content

Healthwatch Warrington undertook a survey about people’s experience of using urgent treatment centres and GP enhanced access over the last six months.  They received 119 responses to the survey.

Three quarters had used the urgent treatment centre in the last six months.  Over a quarter had used the centre at Runcorn and 16% the centre at Widnes.  Over half didn’t know where their nearest urgent treatment centre was.  People wanted Warrington to have its own urgent treatment centre which was accessible by public transport.

Nearly three quarters didn’t know about the recent initiative to offer GP extended access appointments.  Most people weren’t sure how to book an extended access GP appointment.

Over nine in ten said that they hadn’t been made aware of extended access appointments by their GP or PCN.
