Summary of report content

Healthwatch Nottingham and Nottinghamshire undertook a survey across Bassetlaw to find out why people haven’t had the Covid-19 and/or Flu vaccines.  They undertook a survey, targeting the most deprived parts of Bassetlaw.  They received 42 responses, including 23 people who weren’t vaccinated against Covid and 40 people who weren’t vaccinated against flu.

The major difference between the responses given about the Covid vaccine and the flu vaccine was the issue of trust.  More people said they didn’t trust the Covid vaccine and were worried about its side effects, whilst the proportion of people who said this about the flu vaccine was much lower.

The most commonly mentioned reason why people haven’t had the flu vaccine was that they didn’t feel they needed to have it.  One in five people said they have never been offered it and 12% said they didn’t know they could have it.
