Between 2nd and 19th July 2019, Healthwatch Enfield engaged with 372 local residents to hear their views about the proposal to change the closing time of the Urgent Care Centre at Chase Farm Hospital. Feedback was collected via online survey and face to face engagements.
The report found that 84% of local people, who provided feedback to Healthwatch Enfield, did not agree with the proposal. Almost three quarters (74%) felt the Centre was a valuable resource for their health problems and the proposed changes would further reduce the provision of urgent care services in Enfield. Additionally, the respondents felt that confusion about current opening times and lack of information about the Centre were the factors that impact the utilisation of the Urgent Care Centre at Chase Farm Hospital.
The report recommended to maintain opening times of the Urgent Care Centre from 8:00am to 10:00pm and work with local people and stakeholders to raise awareness of the Centre.
