Summary of report content

Healthwatch Islington undertook an evaluation of Centre 404’s Supporting Families Service funded by the Cloudesley Legacy Fund, which provides support and services to people with learning disabilities and their families in north London. The report is based on data gathered from October to December 2019. 29 people participated.

Beneficiaries found out about the centre via a range of sources.  Help with forms and benefits was the aspect of the service that most beneficiaries had accessed.  People also valued the opportunity to share experiences with parents in a similar situation.

Beneficiaries felt that the service was more attuned to service users than other services.  They felt there was nothing else like it.

The organisation strives to deliver what is of most use to beneficiaries and manages staff time and resources to prioritise clients’ needs.  It links well with other organisations.

People had suggestions on what could be improved, but these would largely require additional resources.

The report has 5 recommendations for Centre 404, including learning from partners.
