Summary of report content

Healthwatch Luton undertook engagement on learning disabilities after seeing feedback about children with a learning disability. They wanted to hear from the wider population of Luton about learning disabilities.  15 people, mainly carers and family members of people with learning disabilities, attended a public forum.

Issues discussed included:

  • A definition of learning disabilities
  • What worked well in terms of support
  • Annual health checks
  • What worked less well
  • What was most important to run a service
