Summary of report content

Healthwatch Lambeth collaborated with Streatham Primary Care Network to address some of the challenges they experienced when engaging with patients from diverse linguistic backgrounds. Some of the practices within Streatham have over 50% of their population group from South Asian backgrounds.  Many were unsure how best to navigate their Primary Care setting and many require many interventions to encourage them to attend their regular screening appointments. In particular, uptake for cancer screenings is very low.  They ran an engagement event which 60 people attended.

Feedback gathered at the day included:

  • Attending regular screenings
  • Language
  • Access to GPs
