Healthwatch Derby used an on-line survey to capture people’s choices and behaviours between June 2020 – March 2021. They found that overall, a third of people had changed their choice or behaviour around health and social services between June – December of last year – this reduced to one in five between January – March 2021.
They found that throughout this period, the key reason for the change had been:
• There was anxiety or fear around Covid-19
• People did not want to over burden the services
• Access - The service was closed/suspended, urgent only or could not get an appointment
• Communication from services
The report looks at people’s experiences of primary care services, community care and urgent care services.
