Healthwatch Brighton and Hove conducted their third activity report for 2020-21, in which they describe the vital role that Healthwatch Brighton and Hove has played in supporting patients and local health and social care services between July 2020 and Feburary 2021.
The report shows that regular bullentins have continued to provide up-to-date advice and information on services during the COVID-19 pandemic as well as the vaccine roll-out. The hospital discharge project supported over 1,500 people. Healthwatch Brighton and Hove have heard from 220 people with questions and feedback on services, with many asking about the vaccine programme. The report shows that dental services have been badly impacted by COVID-19 and it is the second biggest concern that has been raised with Healthwatch Brighton and Hove.
In addition to COVID-19 work, Healthwatch Brighton and Hove delivered a Sussex-wide series of reports on Patient Transport Services which will help shape the future contract that is currently being drafted, and the End-Of-Life report is helping to re-shape how patients at the end of their lives, and their relatives, are cared for.
