Healthwatch Haringey engaged with existing patients at Hornsey Wood Green GP Practice to seek their views on plans to move the practice to Wood Green Shopping Centre. They undertook a survey to which 252 people responded, interviewed 31 patients visiting the practice and captured the views of the Patient Participation Group meeting on 8 February 2022.
The survey found that:
- Over three in five people were in favour of the move.
- The four top benefits of the move were more space for the practice, modern facilities, links to Community Diagnostic Centre and tests and space for the practice to grow.
- The biggest worry about the move was the busy location
- Nearly three quarters of people said they would stay with the practice if it moves
The main findings from the interviews were:
- Three quarters were in favour of the proposed move
- Patients saw the main benefits as being more space for the practice, modern facilities, and links to the Community Diagnostic Centre and tests
- Most patients had no concerns about the move. For those who did, it was the busy location, and the new location being further away, involving extra travel
- The vast majority of patients (89%) said they would stay with the practice if it moved
Healthwatch Haringey attended the PPG meeting on 8 February 2022 and all patients in attendance at the meeting were in favour of the proposed move, as there would be more space at the new location.
