Summary of report content

Healthwatch Haringey engaged with existing patients at Hornsey Wood Green GP Practice to seek their views on plans to move the practice to Wood Green Shopping Centre. They undertook a survey to which 252 people responded, interviewed 31 patients visiting the practice and captured the views of the Patient Participation Group meeting on 8 February 2022.

The survey found that:

  • Over three in five people were in favour of the move.
  • The four top benefits of the move were more space for the practice, modern facilities, links to Community Diagnostic Centre and tests and space for the practice to grow.
  • The biggest worry about the move was the busy location
  • Nearly three quarters of people said they would stay with the practice if it moves

The main findings from the interviews were:

  • Three quarters were in favour of the proposed move
  • Patients saw the main benefits as being more space for the practice, modern facilities, and links to the Community Diagnostic Centre and tests
  • Most patients had no concerns about the move. For those who did, it was the busy location, and the new location being further away, involving extra travel
  • The vast majority of patients (89%) said they would stay with the practice if it moved

Healthwatch Haringey attended the PPG meeting on 8 February 2022 and all patients in attendance at the meeting were in favour of the proposed move, as there would be more space at the new location.
