Healthwatch Wiltshire reports on its activities and feedback for the period January to March 2020. During this period, they set their priorities for the year ahead, carried out one enter and view visit, recruited 8 volunteers, published one report, created dedicated advice and information web pages in response to Covid-19 and launched an webpage on measuring their impact. During this period, they spoke to 693 people. The top themes in their feedback form the public were GPs, hospital care, dentists and mental health.
During this period, they undertook research into the experiences of people who contacted the Adult Care Advice and Contact team at Wiltshire county council and researching the experience of healthcare for military families. Their research on GP extended access schemes has led to joint working with the GP Alliance and local NHS to monitor how this service changes and develops in response to their recommendations.
Healthwatch Wiltshire’s priorities for the next few months include monitoring the impact of Covid-19 on people’s experiences of health and care service.
