Summary of report content

Healthwatch Shropshire worked with NHS ‘Improving Access to Psychological Therapies’ (IAPT) programme to assess the talking therapies provided by the programme. IAPT services can support people with mild to moderate mental health issues such as anxiety or low mood.

A survey was distributed through through the IAPT services, across the NHS and social care services and more widely through media, social media and community contacts, such as patient support groups, local councils and community centres. 35 people responded.

The survey explored things like how they accessed the service, value and quality of the service and waiting times. Interviewees provided and extensive list of suggested improvements.
