Summary of report content

Healthwatch Walsall were asked to feed into the consultation process for the local pharmaceutical needs assessment.  They undertook a survey to which 164 people responded.

Key findings

The location, efficiency and proximity to their local GP are the driving considerations to patients when choosing a pharmacy for them

People mainly use pharmacies for getting prescribed medication and repeat prescriptions

Patients are using a range of treatments, including Pharmacy First

People would like late and weekend opening times

Almost all people said that pharmacies met or mostly met their needs.
