St Rocco's Hospice commissioned Healthwatch Warrington to undertake an independent review of their Palliative Virtual Ward service via a survey.  39 people responded.

Key findings:

Everyone agreed that all staff treated them with respect

97% said that their privacy and confidentiality were maintained

92% sad that they were involved as much as they wanted to in decisions about their care and treatmenet

97% said that staff listened to their concerns and responded appropriately

90% agreed that their condition was managed better by the Palliative Virtual Ward

92% felt that the palliative ward supported patients to stay at home

84% felt that the palliative ward reduced the number of contacts made to their GP

56% agreed that the palliative virtual ward reduced the number of times they contacted their community nurse.

57% felt that the virtual ward reduced the number of contacts to hospital

42% felt that the virtual ward reduced the number of contacts to their Macmillan nurse

89% agreed that the virtual ward helped them when seeing their GP

65% agreed that the virtual ward helped when seeing their community nurse

46% agreed that the virtual ward helped when seeing their Macmillan nurse

50% felt that the virtual ward helped when visiting the hospital

94% agreed that their family and carers benefited from the virtual ward

54% felt that the Docobo App information booklet was useful

58% agreed tat the Docobo App process was easy to use

97% said they would recommend the virtual ward to family and friends

95% said they knew how to raise a concern or complaint when needed.
