Summary of report content

Healthwatch Norfolk visited Ormesby Village Surgery in July 2026 and gathered feedback from 19 patients. Overall, feedback was very positive, with an average rating of 4.7 out of 5. Many patients praised the quality of care, describing staff as friendly, professional, caring and willing to listen. Several highlighted positive experiences of referrals, continuity of care and support for mental health needs.

Patients frequently commented on the professionalism and empathy of clinicians, particularly noting that they felt listened to and involved in decisions about their care. Many said they could usually obtain appointments when needed, and some reported improvements in service quality following recent staff changes. The practice's ability to offer appointments across its wider group of surgeries was also seen as a benefit.

The main concerns related to appointment booking and communication. Some patients reported frustration with the need to call at 8am to secure appointments, while others raised issues with communication between the surgery and local pharmacies, particularly regarding repeat prescriptions. A few respondents also noted long waits for routine appointments and difficulties contacting the practice by telephone.

Overall, patients were highly satisfied with the care they received and spoke positively about the staff and clinical support available. Healthwatch noted that the car park was very busy and that the entrance lacked automatic doors or a way to request assistance. Despite these practical issues, the report concluded that patients generally viewed Ormesby Village Surgery as providing a good-quality service with caring and knowledgeable staff.
