Healthwatch Norfolk visited North Caister Medical Centre in July 2026 and gathered feedback from 13 patients. Overall, feedback was extremely positive, with an average rating of 5 out of 5. Patients consistently praised the quality of care and described staff as friendly, welcoming and supportive. Several respondents highlighted individual GPs and nurses for being thorough, listening carefully and providing effective follow-up support.
Many patients reported good access to appointments and said they were usually able to be seen quickly when required. Respondents also valued the practice’s willingness to offer appointments across its wider group of surgeries if availability was limited at North Caister. Several people described the practice as particularly supportive for long-term conditions and mental health concerns.
The only recurring concern related to the telephone system. Some patients reported long queues when calling the practice, although several acknowledged that the queue moved relatively quickly and that the callback function was useful. A few patients commented that appointments could sometimes be unavailable if they called later in the day.
Overall, patients were highly satisfied with the service, frequently describing staff as caring, professional and approachable. Healthwatch also observed good accessibility features, including automatic doors, a ramped entrance and up-to-date information displays in reception. The practice welcomed the feedback and reiterated its commitment to providing high-quality care for its local community.
