Summary of report content

On 2nd May 2019, Healthwatch Harrow engaged with 11 local residents with a Learning Disability or Autism to understand ‘what works, what doesn’t work, and what could easily be improved’ for them.

The report found that people felt Health Passports were a good idea but only if they are actually utilised by staff. Also, people were generally satisfied with the levels of staff expertise and knowledge. Some people reported they had experienced exclusion or poor treatment and support, and that communication could be clearer, accessible and more effective. They felt that staff training, awareness, communication and resources could be easily improved.

The report did not make any recommendations.
