Summary of report content

Between April and May 2019, Healthwatch Harrow engaged with 63 local people to find out their views to shape the NHS Long Term Plan (LTP). They found that people consider communication, staffing levels, continuity of treatment and care, and service access to be important in current and future services. People were generally complimentary about a broad range of services including GPs, multi-disciplinary teams, rapid response team, Learning Disability Nurses in hospitals and NHS111. However, people commented negatively on communication, staffing levels and retention, access to services, medication wastage and cost. Some easy improvements were suggested as well which included better communication and administration (such as updating websites), greater use of Health Passports and enhanced consistency and continuity.
