Healthwatch Blackpool collected feedback from people accessing mental health services and those who live with a mental health condition but are not in contact with services. Feedback was collected using survey and focus groups methods.
86 respondents shared their experiences about mental health services. More than half of the respondent had a diagnosed mental health condition. The findings reveal that patients had longer than the recommended waiting times for their initial assessment with a mental health professional and there was a lack of community support. In addition, those who were at risk of a crisis were not always offered a crisis plan and there was a lack of information and support available to recognise warning signs of a crisis.
The report did not include recommendations or a response from the service provider.
