Summary of report content

This report was written by Healthwatch Bolton following feedback gathered from men in the Bolton area. Semi structured interviews were used, as well as a discussion group.

The report was published November, 2016. It is based on responses and discussions with local people. A total of 106 men were engaged with.

Overall sentiment was mixed. The research concerns mental health and the possibilities or lack of to talk about the issues within this area. There is a balance between findings on the difficultly of reaching out and being heard, especially by services, and opportunity for better provision and solutions.

A set of recommendations has been made. No response from providers is attached, though this project does not engage with a single provider of services.
