Summary of report content

Healthwatch Wirral undertook research into peoples’ experiences with Medequip, a provider of community equipment services. Between September and October 2024, 454 people completed a survey designed to gather feedback on various aspects of their experiences with the equipment and services provided by Medequip.

Over 85% of respondents were very happy with the equipment's cleanliness, functionality and condition upon delivery. Nearly 90% of respondents reported that the equipment improved their ability to live more independently, and over 85% of respondents said that the equipment positively impacted their quality of life. Most people were happy with the Medequip call centre staff and technicians and were satisfied with the delivery and collection of the equipment. Just under one-fifth of respondents required repairs for their equipment, though over 65% were very happy with the support they received. Nearly 85% of respondents expressed high satisfaction with the services provided by Medequip.

The report includes several recommendations for Medequip to enhance its services.
