Summary of report content

Healthwatch Greenwich report on the themes in the feedback they received during May 2021.  During this period, they received 408 responses.

The main themes included:

  • Covid-19 Vaccination – very positive feedback about the convenience of the vaccination bus service.  Healthwatch received feedback from East and West African groups about a lack of trust in UK vaccination messaging and the impact of this lack of trust.
  • GP services – feedback continues to be mixed, with positive feedback about doctors, but difficulty in getting appointments and using digital platforms.  People report that face to face appointments are difficult to access.
  • Hospital appointments and treatment – people report that they don’t get clear information before appointments about Covid-19 tests and self-isolation.  People are concerned that they aren’t being told when normal outpatients appointments will resume.  Blood tests must be pre-booked.
  • Urgent care and A&E - Service users say it is now easier to get medical care and prescriptions at urgent care or A&E in Queen Elizabeth Hospital than getting access to GP surgeries.
  • Translation and interpretation services – people report mixed experience of getting access to interpretation services.

The report also covers issues relating to sexual health services, services for children with special needs, social care, dental care, physiotherapy services and mental health.
