Summary of report content

In 2019 Healthwatch Medway proactively sought feedback from women using maternity services at Medway Maritime Hospital.  They spoke to 38 people.

People felt the following things were important:

  • Being able to book appointments easily
  • The flexibility with appointment times to enable fathers to join
  • Involving partners
  • Having a point of contact for concerns
  • Good communication between staff and patients

People were concerned about the length of time they had to wait when they arrived and had some individual experiences about the appointments. Most people had positive stories about the staff and communications.  They also had good ideas to improve patient experience.
