Summary of report content

Healthwatch Norfolk visited Martham Health Centre in July 2026 and gathered feedback from 18 patients, resulting in an average rating of 4.5 out of 5. Overall, patients were very positive about the service, frequently describing staff as friendly, professional and welcoming. Many praised the quality of care, saying clinicians listened to them, made appropriate referrals and provided effective support when needed.

The strongest positive theme was staff attitude and patient care. Patients repeatedly described doctors, nurses and reception staff as helpful, kind and respectful. Several reported being able to obtain same-day appointments and said they were happy with the level of care provided. Many considered the practice one of the best they had used and felt confident returning when they needed support.

The main concern related to access to appointments and telephone systems. Some patients reported long waits on the phone, queues of 40 to more than 100 callers, and difficulties getting routine appointments. While several people said they were willing to wait or eventually received appointments, others felt the process of contacting the practice could be frustrating and time-consuming. A small number also reported issues with the callback system and communication about referrals.

Overall, feedback suggests that patients highly value the professionalism and quality of care provided at Martham Health Centre. Access to appointments remains the primary area of concern, but most respondents felt well looked after once they were able to contact the practice and attend an appointment.
