The North East London STP area consists of 8 local Healthwatch who engaged local people in focus groups and surveys to gather their feedback. This is part of network-wide NHS Long Term Plan (LTP) project.
The report found that people want better access to healthcare, good quality information and signposting alongside affordable healthy living and eating options. Services were not always tailored to meet the needs of those with learning disabilities. Residents were positive about the use of digital technology in terms of booking appointments, checking test results and managing clinical records. However, respondents were not keen to use online consultations instead of face to face appointments. Participants requested better and early access to mental health services, with concerns that people reached crisis before they accessed appropriate services.
A response to this report from the East London Health and Care Partnership will be published in due course.
