Summary of report content

The report from Healthwatch Leicester, Healthwatch Leicestershire and Healthwatch Rutland engaged 579 people who gave feedback on healthcare services.

People concerns surround communication between staff and patients on the selection of the right treatments. All respondents highlighted the desire to:

  • stay in their own homes for as long as possible.
  • for the ability to access doctors and healthcare professionals in a flexible manner.
  • have timely access to services with patients being prepared to travel for that access.
  • feel that they are being listened to.

Other areas highlighted included better support for carers, friends and family. In the drive for digitisation of services, special consideration should be given to people with learning disabilities and conditions like dementia so that they are catered for so they don't suffer from digital exclusion.
