Healthwatch Coventry and Healthwatch Warwickshire conducted a number of focus groups alongside two online surveys. 795 people responded to the survey during March and April 2019.
It was found that people want to see improvements to the way people access healthcare and would like to feel listened to when they attend services. It was highlighted that transport can be problematic and would like more choice about when and where they receive treatment. Those with specific conditions reported that seeing a specialist and getting timely communication was valued. People with cancer had more positive experiences than those with other conditions. Waiting times were reported as too long for those with autism to access support.
Next steps were proposed including reviewing proactive and preventative care around wellbeing and aging well. Technology in healthcare was much talked about but there were concerns about its use.
A response was included from the Health and Care Partnership.
