Summary of report content

On 16th March 2017, the University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust provided a response to ‘The Lived Experience of Hospital Discharge’ report by Healthwatch Leicestershire.

The purpose of the response was to provide the Health and Wellbeing Board with a summary of the actions that the University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust and their partners are taking in response to the five key recommendations outlined within ‘The Lived Experience of Hospital Discharge’ report.

The University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust supported the five recommendations Healthwatch Leicestershire made in the report, agreeing to improve the timing of medication with their 'Red 2 Green' programme and to use this programme to also promote patient understanding, to review the recommendations about staff training, to use the 'Better Change' methodology to listen to staff and patients, and to use the Friends and Family Test and surveys for patient feedback.
