Listening to feedback about the wellbeing navigation service in Medway

Medway Council are preparing to recommission the Wellbeing Navigator services, provided by IMAGO. To support this, Healthwatch Medway were asked to engage with the public and key system stakeholders to gather feedback and insights to inform Medway Council in its recommissioning process. They spoke to 308 people.
The report looks at the results of the different strands of research.
Most people who took part in the public survey hadn’t heard from the Wellbeing Navigation Service.
People who had used the Wellbeing Navigation Service had used it mainly to get help with claiming benefits. Most felt the service was good or excellent and had hand a positive impact on their or their loved ones’ wellbeing.
Conversations with Wellbeing Navigation staff found that referrals to the service weren’t always appropriate. Barriers that make it difficult for people to access the services are caused by someone's individual circumstances such as being housebound, homeless, or living in rural communities.
Conversations with stakeholders who had referred people to the Wellbeing Navigation service mainly referred people because they needed help with benefits. Most felt the experience was positive.
