Summary of report content

This report is by Healthwatch Hertfordshire. The project looked at experiences of support for the menopause.

An online survey was used to capture the views of local people. It was felt this would be the best way to gather views on such a potentially sensitive topic.

A total of 560 women who are either currently going through or have experienced the perimenopause/menopause took part in the survey.

A mixed set of findings were reported around access, communication with professionals and the treatment offered. Too often women were going without the support they felt they should have.

There are recommendations in this report. These are on the following areas:

  • Information
  • Staff Training
  • Communication
  • Support
  • Access

There are no follow up actions in the report. However the ICB is recommended to take note of the findings.
