Summary of report content

This is a joint report written by Healthwatch Bath and North East Somerset, Healthwatch Bristol, and Healthwatch South Gloucestershire. The topic is a summary of feedback gathered from two events run by Mencap and Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust.

The report was published June, 2017. The main reason for engagement was to check the adherence to the Accessible Information Standard for patients as set out in 2016. Over 50 people’s comment’s were gathered through a mix of engagement stands and workshops.

Overall sentiment was mixed. While the quantitative results suggest mostly positive experiences, detailed comments point to specific needs across a range of areas. A key theme was lack of good communication with people that have learning and other disabilities.
