Summary of report content

National data from NHS England Midlands revealed a high level of dental decay in children living in areas of Warwick District. During May and June 2024 Healthwatch Warwickshire conducted engagement and outreach to explore and understand in greater detail people’s experience of dentists and dental care for their children.

They received 158 responses to their survey, from individuals who told them about the experience of 259 children.

There were common barriers to being unable to see a dentist, including not being able to register with a dentist nearby, long wait times, or costs being too high.
