3 visits arranged and 50 patients surveyed asking them to detail their experience of the surgery, whether there was anything they’d like to see improved and to rate their overall experience of the surgery out of 5 (5 = excellent, 1 = poor).
Conclusions:
• Generally patients found that their overall experience had been positive.
35 of the 50 patients surveyed specifically mentioned positive experiences.
• Although feedback was generally positive a number of key themes arose from the survey that indicated where patients felt improvement was most needed. These include: Appointment waiting times, Continuity of care, Accessibility/access and Staff attitude.
Feedback from Surgery:
• Waiting times are continually monitored
• Recruitment of staff has had an impact on continuity of care (e.g. use of locums)
• Review of accessibility into surgery
• Addressing messages from reception staff.
