Summary of report content

This report evaluates the current state of dementia diagnosis and care in Worcestershire, focusing on the information and support provided to individuals and their carers. 

It aims to identify gaps and inconsistencies in the care pathway, with the goal of improving overall support and coordination across health and social care services.

The research engaged 217 individuals,  including a survey of 131 carers, a survey of 38 people living with dementia , 7 focus groups, and 12 in-depth  interviews. 

Using this data, the report evaluates what information and support is available upon diagnoses, the provision of dementia care planning, and what support is available from patients' GP's, other health services, and social care services.

It made detailed recommendations about how to improve information and support pathways for dementia care.
