Healthwatch Sefton was commissioned by Sefton Council for Voluntary Services (Sefton CVS) to undertake an independent evaluation of the MacMillan Right by You service in November 2020. They spoke to 19 people who used the service.
All people rated the service as excellent, good or very good. All rated their experience as excellent or very good. They all felt comfortable in having their say and being involved in choosing what would best support them. Information and advice was given in a way that was easy to understand. The navigators had been able to help clients with a range of needs, including making benefit applications, and carers assessments. Emotional support and support to access welfare benefits were the top 2 areas of need which were shared by people accessing the service.
All said that the information/ support provided by the community navigators had helped them to remain or be more independent. All would recommend the support provided.
