Healthwatch Leeds conducted a survey with 233 people, to find out how people in Leeds were keeping informed about care and treatment that had been paused under lockdown.
The report found that people reported a mixed experience relating to receiving information about their treatment. People preferred being informed via letter or a phone call. People reported struggling mental with the stresses of managing their own illness. Those who accessed services during the pandemic praised the staff for their care. For those who gave birth during the pandemic, there has been little follow-up support and difficulties accessing postnatal checks at the right time. Healthwatch Leeds have continued to hear about people’s difficulties in getting both routine and urgent dental care in Leeds.
