This report is by Healthwatch Gloucestershire. This project looked at social care assessments and how people felt they were conducted.
A mix of survey responses, one to one and group conversations were used in this research.
There are recommendations in the report.
Information - the need to provide clear information in a booklet to people undertaking a care assessment. Possibly to update the website with various information on contact details.
Communication - clear support for those starting an assessment and during the process. Availability of different formats when communicating with service users. Clear timescales and use of terms. Named contacts to be introduced.
Navigation - clearer information for self funders on their options. Information on signposting for services related to wellness.
There are no follow up actions in the report.
However the provider has responded and taken on board the report and recommendations for their future planning.
