This snapshot report looks at the issue of alcohol consumption in Westhoughton, an area of Bolton. The research was done 21 September, 2017. Healthwatch Bolton wrote this report.

A group of Westhoughton people was asked to discuss the issue of alcohol consumption in their local area. The engagement for this report was prompted by a public health report suggesting higher alcohol in-take in Westhoughton.

Comments in the report explore whether people think doctors and health professionals are getting a true picutre of alcohol in-take levels. The reasons for drinking alcohol are also explored.

The report does not make recommendations and there was no relevant provider to ask for response.
