Healthwatch Swindon reports on its activities and feedback for Q3 2019/20. In this period, they collected 100 pieces of feedback. Key themes in this were concern about closure of the walk-in centre and negative feedback about the Great Western Hospital.
The report includes the meetings Healthwatch Swindon had had during that quarter with local stakeholders and public events they attended to speak to the public. They also held a meeting of their Patient Participation Group Forum.
During this quarter, Healthwatch Swindon undertook 3 Enter and View visits in local care homes and NHS Commissioning Unit South commissioned them to carry out a survey of specialist dental care within their areas. They also reported on their monitoring work in relation to access to Swindon Health Centre.
During Q3 Healthwatch Swindon have had 33 requests for advocacy information, this is an increase of 13 on the previous quarter. There are 20 ongoing cases, 8 new cases were opened during this quarter and 11 closed.
Healthwatch have commissioned the Nepalese community to undertake some research with their members which will be completed and reported on in the fourth quarter; and they have started the process of identifying other groups to do something similar in the first quarter of 2020/2021.
In Q3, Healthwatch Swindon undertook a stakeholder survey and plan to implement a plan to address the points raised. The report also looks at the communication activity, staff training, volunteers and planned activity for Q4 2019/20.
