Healthwatch Sunderland report on their achievements for 2019/20 in their annual report.
They had 27 volunteers providing 786 hours to support them and employed 6 staff members. 1,989 people shared their health and social care story with them and 1,208 people were signposted by Healthwatch Sunderland. They visited 177 places and published 33 reports about the improvements people would like to see with their health and social care.
They made a difference to a number of issues including improving peoples’ knowledge and experience of out of hours GP appointments services; helping people to have a better experience of wheelchair services; improving the lives of Care Home residents and shaping the local response to the NHS Long Term Plan.
