Healthwatch Lincolnshire have published their first 'Making a difference' Quarterly Report, summarising activity undertaken between July and September 2017. During this time, they have engaged with 2720 local people at events across Lincolnshire.
The report details statistics for the quarter, the 2016/17 AGM, patient stories and experiences, signposting support, Enter and View visits, reports and escalations, ‘So what’ and updates on local services.
Healthwatch Lincolnshire details work they have carried out relating to Grantham A&E, Annual learning disability health checks, Lincoln walk-in centre, Pain Clinic, as well as addressing the issue of the special measures status at United Lincolnshire Hospital Trust (ULHT). Through Enter and View, 9 Care Homes were visited and findings included reports of delayed or poor discharge from hospital, lack of care package provision and access to activities for residents, specifically when needing wheelchair accessible transport.
The report highlights areas of impact, such as changes made to correspondence from the CCG and ULHT and better engagement with the Gypsy Traveller Community. This local Healthwatch was also asked to be part of the tender panel at Cliff House Medical Practice with special consideration for the patient engagement element on the contract award.
