Summary of report content

As part of an NHS England grant to Healthwatch England, Healthwatch Croydon were asked to provide patient insight to support the local Health and Care Plan development. In early May 2019, Healthwatch Croydon, in association with NHS Croydon Clinical Commissioning Group, ran two successive two-hour public events in Thornton Heath to gain insight into how this new model of services would be received by local residents. They spoke to 8 people.

The report considers the following issues:

  • Public understanding of the model
  • How access can be widened
  • The need for effective communications
  • Building community ownership and representation
