Healthwatch Lancashire acted as the lead on this project with both Healthwatch Blackburn with Darwen and Healthwatch Blackpool supporting the project. The report looks at experiences of service users and family, friends, and carers of The Harbour, a 154 bedded mental health hospital providing care and treatment for adults who cannot be safely treated at home. The Harbour is located in Blackpool, publication was April, 2016.
A total of 22 service users were spoken to for this report, they were asked a series of 26 questions on specific aspects of their experience along with additional comments, compliments and concerns.
A total of 14 parents, fiends, and carers were spoken to for the report, they were asked 4 questions relating to their relatives or friend’s experience, along with additional comments, compliments and concerns.
There were no specific overall conclusions to the project, however the provider Lancashire Care Foundation Trust has responded and addressed several of the questionaire scores and comments it found concerning.
