GP website audit: finding information during Covid-19

Summary of report content

Healthwatch Hertfordshire undertook mystery shopping of information on GP websites following similar research from Healthwatch Central Bedfordshire.  Volunteers assessed the information on 103 GP websites during the period 25th June to 10th July 2020.

Key findings:

  • 93% of websites were considered to be up to date or reasonably up to date
  • 99% of websites provided Covid-19 information
  • 96% of websites provided a link to the NHS Covid-19 advice
  • 89% of websites provided some kind of advice for cancer patients
  • 61% of websites provided a link to the Macmillan Covid-19 web page
  • 85% of websites provided a link to some kind of cancer support group
  • 1% of websites provided a link to local Healthwatch
