Healthwatch Richmond conducted an investigation into 376 people's experiences of health and care during the Coronavirus.
The report found that virtual appointments received a mixed response, particularly negative experiences for those with mental health conditions. There were difficulties requesting repeat prescriptions for those who did not use online GP services. Visiting clinical settings was a concern for people with long term conditions and that communication about control measures was welcomed. Some people commented that they were discharged from hospital before they were ready. People who had a high perceived risk, were concerned about leaving the house and reported that clear credible information about how to protect themselves would help. Loneliness and isolation was a common theme for those who lived alone or in shared housing. Carers reported that the face to face and peer services that they often gained significant
support from had largely ceased.
