Summary of report content

Healthwatch Salford undertook research on people’s experiences of equipment services as it was one of their priorities for the year 2020/21.  They undertook a survey to which 335 people responded.

Most people were happy with the equipment provided.  The top three types of equipment used were help with walking and getting up, bathing and toileting. Most people felt that all elements of the equipment service that they had used are excellent.  Most people were happy with the contact times for the service, but some wanted the service to be available on early mornings and evenings.

Nearly everyone was happy with the times of the delivery service.  Most said that the equipment was delivered on the agreed day.  Nearly four in five knew what to do if an item of equipment is no longer needed.

The report contains five recommendations based on the feedback given by people to the survey, and a detailed response from the provider.
